Home Care Preferred have been providing quality visiting care for people since 2012. During this time we have the pleasure of seeing clients remaining happily in their own homes.
Visiting care can be anything from an hour at a time through to regular weekly visits. Flexible visits is one of the key advantages.
Visiting care is when a trained carer visits a client at home and helps them to lead the best life possible.
Carefully matched carers visit the client on days and at times that support is required.
Clients can use our services from just on hour per week.
Extremely. We appreciate people’s needs regularly change. Clients can increase and decrease support as required.
We do! We take care of breaks, holidays, the carers pay, national insurance & tax, training, reviews, and of course we deal with any issues that may arise.
Visiting care is ideal for people who want to remain in their own home, but who are finding some aspects of life difficult to manage. Clients are mainly older people, however we do support younger adults, for example, people with learning disabilities.
Each client has different requirements, but help can include meal preparation, shopping, housework, personal care, accompanying to social events, assisting with medication, companionship and much more.
We ensure that any carer visiting has the appropriate levels of experience to meet the needs of the client. Just as important we do our best to provide a person with the right personality for each client.
We appreciate the need for continuity and therefore try and keep the numbers of carers visiting each client to a minimum.
Our team come from a wide range of backgrounds. The common thread is that they are kind, compassionate, demonstrate empathy and have the necessary skills to provide appropriate levels of support to our clients.
We would make sure that we find a suitable replacement. It is very rare that the carer is not suitable, mainly due to good matching from the outset.
Our visiting service is flexible, and clients can change hours or cancel the contract with just 48 hours’ notice.
Yes, there is a management team on call 24 hours a day in case of any emergency. We keep in regular touch with our client and carer, always ensuring everyone is satisfied.
Yes, we can provide carers to provide cover throughout the night.
Absolutely! As a minimum, all our carers have training in first aid, medication administration, health & safety, infection prevention & control, manual handling, customer care, safeguarding, fluid and nutrition.
Definitely not! Part of our service is to encourage independence balanced with providing the help that is needed.
In our experience there can be some anxiety at the start, however, in nearly all cases our clients soon enjoy having a person visit them and they look forward to the visits.
