When did you start working in the care sector?
I’ve always been drawn to the social sector. I studied Social Work in Spain, with the intention of working with children. When I moved to London in 2018, I spent about a year in hospitality while settling into the city. In 2020, I joined Home Care Preferred as a Care Assistant, and in 2021, I was promoted to Team Leader. Since then, I’ve truly enjoyed my work in the care sector—particularly supporting elderly clients to ensure their needs are met and that they feel comfortable, respected, and cared for in their own homes.

What do you find most rewarding about working in the care profession?
The most rewarding part of this job is being able to make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Helping elderly clients maintain their independence and enjoy a good quality of life in the comfort of their own homes gives me great satisfaction. Knowing that my support contributes to their happiness and wellbeing is incredibly fulfilling. I also believe it’s a fundamental value of our society to care for and respect our older generation.

What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I love dancing—especially to Latin music—and traveling whenever I get the chance. Since becoming a mother, I’ve especially enjoyed discovering new places together as a family. I also treasure time spent with friends, whether that’s going out for lunch or drinks, and I make sure to take moments for myself to relax and recharge.

What are the four most important things in your life?
1) My family — my little one, my partner, and my loved ones in Spain and Ecuador.
2) Good health, which allows me to enjoy life and stay active.
3) Quality time for myself and with my friends.
4) Working in a supportive and positive environment where everyone cares for one another and for our clients
